Monterey is one of the happiest greyhounds I have known. She has had a foot problem since she retired from the track, but she is such a trooper she has never once complained about it. But she has had a fairly serious limp. The first time around with the vet they pulled an embedded pebble from this toe – but it did not improve. So yesterday she went back , and once the vet saw the x-ray she called and told us she was going to take off the toe.
She will be fine in a couple of weeks and we really look forward to getting to know this dog once she can frolic and go for long walks and race Peter in the back yard.
